PEOPLE ALWAYS HAVE A STORY TO TELL AND I WANT TO HEAR ABOUT IT.
Hello my name is Craig Handy and I love a good story. For example here is my story. For the past 7 years I have the great opportunity to work in sports and earn a living off it. During this time I have done many things I never even thought I could; like selling and organizing choirs to sing the anthem before a home game or going to schools and teach elementary kids how "Hockey is alot like Life". All my life I've wanted to work in sports and I would do it all over again if I could. However, after those seven years my desire to chase down the dream of being in radio or TV became to much to put off any longer and I made the tough decision to leave a job that had become a second home for me. My love for sports is how I became interested in the world of sports broadcasting. I love how sports can bring communities, cities, and ordinary citizens together. That's what I want to be apart of, allowing normal people to tell the story that needs to be told. The kind of stories that will ignite the passions of citizens of the community that I reside in. This page is small glimpse into what I have done and what I want to get back into.
My background includes working with professional cameras and editing software such as NeuLion, Adobe Premiere, Final Cut, Adobe Audition and Audacity.
I have been working for the past three season with the Utah Grizzlies, a professional hockey team in Salt Lake City. I have been serving as their in-house photographer and game highlights producer during the teams road games.
During the past three playoff runs, I was in charge of cutting highlights period by period and sending it to all major news outlets in the Salt Lake valley. I both filmed and edited the team's annual visit to the local VA and Children's Hospital.
While I was in college I interned twice at a Riverbend Communication in Idaho Falls, Idaho and worked as both a Sports Producer as well as a sports reporter for the school's broadcast show Scroll Digital.
